The USCIS announced that is has changed the filing procedures for all stand along I-130 petitions. Effective immediately, all I-130 petitions must be filed with the Chicago Lockbox instead of the USCIS service center. This has become somewhat confusing because the USCIS has change these procedures for many forms.

In this case, the new filing procedures for the I-130 require petitions to be sent to a certain post office box depending on the filers address. The petitions are then sorted and routed to the appropriate service center
