Sometime after your adjustment of status interview (usually within 1 month) you will receive a Welcome Notice from the USCIS indicating that your spouse's petition for lawful permanent residency has been approved. The notice will indicate that your spouse should receive his permanent residency card in the mail in a few months. (*Sometimes it will arrive in 30 days and sometimes it takes several months.) If your spouse does not receive her permanent residency card four months from the date on the Welcome Notice you should contact the USCIS immediately.

Make a copy of the Welcome Notice and keep the original in a safe place as this will be the only proof of your spouse's lawful permanent residency status she will have until she receives her lawful permanent residency card.
