Payment of Fees

Most forms that you will have to submit for your fiance visa require a filing fee. We have provided the specific amount of each filing fee in the relevant section of this Guide. Please refer to that section for specific information.

All payments submitted to the USCIS must be in the form of a cashier's or certified check. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. You may submit a single check for the filing fee for multiple forms. Checks should be made payable to the USCIS or United States Citizenship & Immigration Services.

Be sure to paper clip any checks submitted to the cover letter which you submit along with the filing so that the check is on the top of the petition and will be easily found.

Finally, it is very important that you make sure to submit the exact amount of the required filing fees. The USCIS will reject any petition that is not submit with the exact filing fee required (even if it is more than required.) If your petition is rejected because you submit the wrong filing fee it is not a big deal but will delay the process.

If your petition is rejected for this reason simply obtain a new check for the correct amount and resubmit the petition with a new cover letter. In these cases, make sure that you include a copy of the rejection notice with your re-submitted petition and include the phrase "SECOND SUBMISSION" in the RE line of the cover letter.

Payment of fees to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate vary from post-to-post. Please refer to the specific instructions provide to you by the Embassy or Consulate for payment of these fees.
