STEP 7: NVC Processing
Once the USCIS processes and approves your petition it will be forwarded to the NVC for further processing. You will receive an approval notice from the USCIS which will indicate that your petition has been forwarded to the NVC. The NVC will also send you a letter acknowledging receipt of the approved petition. The letter will tell you which U.S. Embassy or Consular post will process your petition. A copy of an actual NVC letter is attached.
Once the NVC receives your approved petition from the USCIS it will create a case and then forward your case to the appropriate U.S. Embassy or Consulate aborad. The NVC reports that it currently takes 3-4 weeks to forward an approved fiance visa petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate after receipt from the USCIS. The NVC will send you a letter notifying you when it has forwarded your petition to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate abroad.
There is nothing additional that you are required to do in this part of the process.
