Tips for PART B
Question 1. Make sure to type last name in all CAPS.
Questions 8. In most cases your fiance will not have a Social Security number. If she does include it. If not, simply type N/A.
Question 9. Again, in most cases your fiance will not have an A# or Alien Registration number. If she does, include it. If not simply type N/A.
Question 12. If your fiance is currently in the U.S. you need to include the manner in which she last arrived. You may need to look at her passport or I-94 card to determine this. The I-94 will indicate the non-immigrant visa class in which she was admitted. Generally, this will be a visitor or a student. This question also asks for the I-94 number which should be at the top left hand corner of the I-94 card, which is typically stapled to a page in the passport. The I-94 will also include the date of arrival and date of expiration which is also asked for in this question.
Question 14. This asks for the address in the U.S. where your fiance will live. Presumably this will be your address.
Question 16. If you fiance’s language uses something other than Roman letters he needs to write his name and address in his native alphabet here. If your fiance’s native English uses Roman letters just type N/A.
Question 18. Include a brief description of how you and your fiance met. This can be a simple description such as: “I met my fiance through a chat room for single adults. After getting to know each other we decided to meet and I traveled to Spain to meet her in February 2007.”
Question 19. If you met your fiance through a international dating or marriage broker service which requires payment of a fee for this service you must answer yes to this question and provide the name, address, and contact information for the marriage brokerage company.
Question 20. This question asks where your fiance will apply for her visa. Visit the U.S. Department of State website at: http://usembassy.state.gov/ and find the U.S. Embassy or Consular office which is closest to your fiance’s place of residence. Enter the City and Country where this is located in Question 20.
