If I lived and work in the U.S. unlawfully and paid into the social security system can I get social security benefits?
Well, this is more of a social security law issues than an immigration law issue so I am not sure about the answer. However, I would be surprised if the law allowed for persons who lived and worked illegally in the U.S. to collect social security benefits even if you paid into the system.

Social security and illegal
This topic must have an answer, and I suppose the only way to research it is to first get any info from the Social Security laws themselves.
I am in a similar position, and have many years tied up in US Social Security, so really need the info.
I am tempted to write to a congress-person to see if any info can be had that way.
Nevertheless, I'll try to get any ifo I can, and post the info here.
